We, the American priests, won the cup: 100% were present at Châteauneuf-de-Galaure from the 8th to the 14th of February! Six priests from New York and Minnesota, one from Boston, plus the three priests from Quebec flew out to join the 200 brothers of Emmanuel at “The Foyers de Charité” (meaning the Hearth of Charity) Click here for information about Marthe Robin and The Foyers de Charité. Here you will see the hearth of her farm-house and the bed from which she offered fifty years of suffering.
Brothers from all five continents came to experience six days of silence and adoration together. We lived the priceless blessing that Pierre Goursat had so desired for us as priests. Dominique Rey and Yves le Saux, both ordained as one of the first few priests of the community, reminded us of the specificity of the priesthood in the Emmanuel community. Many of us were also able to discover our African and Chinese brothers who had come a long way to benefit from the exceptional exchanges.
Laurent Landete, the community moderator and Martine Catta, the co-founder of the community, gave us the gift of their presence. Every day we had morning praise, Mass, adoration, teachings and vespers. It was all lived in such intense communion that it filled us with a new zeal to adore the Lord and spread the Good News.
The parish mission in Larchmont will provide a great opportunity to unfold the charisms that God lavished on His priests in the holy place where Marthe interceded for the renewal of the Church.
You are all welcome to Saints John and Paul Parish to join us for the mission from March 7-15. Your prayers are very much needed as well.
