Rainy Community Weekend in Alabama

It poured a lot of rain and a lot of graces during this weekend retreat at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Alabama with our brothers and sisters of the Emmanuel Community – Georgia/Alabama.

The Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament is an amazing place where thousands of people journey to it every year, taking in an atmosphere of peace and serenity that engulf them as they approach the Shrine. A long white picket fence leads visitors to the gates of the 380-acre property.

Mother Angelica, the Foundress of the monastery, built the Shrine in the 13th century style, resembling the Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi, Italy. From the inlaid marble floors to the breathtaking nearly eight-foot monstrance, every detail of the Main Church leads the soul to contemplate the transcendent beauty of God.

Everything begins here – in the Real Presence of our Risen Lord.

We gathered for a Community weekend, in this spot dedicated to the Divine Child and populated with a community of sisters : The Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration to praise, to spend joyful time together and to seek to grow in our love for the Eucharist!

Awesome weekend!!!
