Parish Mission with the ESM in California

We are excited to share with you the news that the ESM will be in silicon valley this June 8-16 (the weekend of Pentecost through Blessed Trinity Sunday) for a parish mission at St Joseph’s in Mountain View (near San Francisco)! With mission activities for youth, young adults, couples, families, from teachings to meeting with the missionaries, from praise to mercy night, we will work with the parish to reinvigorate parishioners! We have been hard at work for months preparing for this mission and are counting on you and on your prayers for fruit for this local church community.

This is a unique opportunity for us to show our pastor, our parish, and more generally Catholics in our area what the Emmanuel Community is. Inevitably, whenever we mention that we belong to the Emmanuel Community, people ask us what it is because they have never heard of it. We want to change this! We want them to see who we are and experience what it is. We want to show our diverse community with its differences in ages and states of life and nationalities, all working together, all one family sharing the same charism. Come and BE Emmanuel with us! The new bishop of San Jose, Msgr Oscar Cantu, will be coming on the last day of the mission to celebrate masses and it will be our chance to introduce him to the Emmanuel Community and hopefully forge a connection.

So, on top of your prayers, we are asking that you please seriously consider coming to support our parish mission in Mountain View! We need you! Come for a weekend (June 15-16 will be the best of the two), for a few days, the whole week… whatever you can! We are happy to find lodging for whoever wants to come! And you will even have time to go sightseeing :). Not to mention being with 10 missionaries on fire for the faith! It will be a great experience!

Meanwhile, please join us in praying the Mission Prayer for this mission:

Holy Father, God of love and mercy, You have surrendered everything for love of us.
May we learn to surrender everything for love of You.
Fill us with Your Holy Spirit that we may do Your will and not our own.
Help us to love You above all things and to love Your people the way You have commanded us.
Quiet our minds and hearts that we may be open to the gift of Your truth, and grant that our Parish Mission at St. Joseph’s in June 2019 may be:
a time of Grace for all,
a time of growth for the young,
a time of refreshment for the old,
a time of renewal for families,
a time of healing for the broken,
a time of joy for the sorrowing,
a time of challenge for the complacent,
a time of forgiveness for the sinner,
a time of strength for the holy.

Through Christ our Lord, in the unity of the Holy Spirit. Amen!

See you in June! :)
