Welcoming a new family from Rwanda

The Emmanuel Community America is excited to welcome a new wonderful family Judith and Joseph with their family: Michaella, Jeremie, Raphael, and Gabriella now living in the Baltimore area.

Judith met the Emmanuel Community in 1992 and was blessed to be welcomed in the EC by Cyprien and Daphrose Rugamba who were Responsible of the Community in Kigali. Cyprien and Daphrose, a married couple from Rwanda, introduced the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and the Emmanuel Community to their country in 1990. Sadly Cyprien and Daphrose were assassinated in their house during the Rwandan genocide of 1994 with six of their 10 children after an evening of prayer in front of the Blessed Sacrament. The cause for their canonization in the Catholic Church was opened in 2015.

In early 2000, Judith, who continued to be active in the Emmanuel Community Rwanda, met her husband Joseph who also joined the community a couple of years later.

Now in Baltimore, they are very busy juggling between full time work, different schools and Parish activities. They all like their new life in America in spite of the challenging temperatures and would love to get to know other members of the community.

Judith states “Emmanuel is my life. We love Jesus and we are happy to announce Him with our brothers and sisters in the Community”. We warmly welcome them to America and are looking forward to sharing together our faith journey! Praise God for them!
