Next week, on July 16th, Christians from all over the country will gather at the National Mall in Washington DC in the name of Jesus. They will come for “Together 2016,” an unprecedented, free event to unite in prayer and worship led by a solid line-up of speakers and musicians. The organizers say, “We believe there’s power in coming together. Jesus promised whenever two or more come together in His name, He is present. It’s emboldening to join with others, to know we’re not alone, to realize we can do more together than apart.”
“Together 2016 will be a massive collective moment when we will ask Jesus to reset our lives, our nation, and our generation.”
Pope Francis agrees and encourages all to attend. He says “Give it a Try! You don’t have anything to lose!” Even if you cannot attend in person, be united in prayer. We ask the intercession of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, whose feast day is also July 16th, that we always choose Jesus.

Matt Maher is performing at this event. That alone makes me want to attend.
