In the first weekend in March, the EC Washington Community was blessed to host Fr. Henry Marie Mottin, head of the Ordained Ministery and Seminarians for the Emmanuel Community worldwide. It was a beautiful weekend centered around adoration, reflection of the role of the community in this challenging times for the church and fraternal friendship.
As usual it was a joyful gathering well attended by the brothers and sisters in the area and also with a few members from Philadelphia who travelled for the occasion. In the best EC tradition, there was an abundance of fabulous company, great food, amazing French wines from Bourgogne (a few miles from Paray le Monial sanctuary!), sweets and cakes.
Fr. Henry Marie’s teaching on the Sacred Heard of Jesus offered plenty of opportunities to learn and reflect on the upcoming missions of the Community and encouraged a serene faith’s perseverance in time of tribulation. It reinvigorated the call of being Emmanuel, recalling the essence of the Emmanuel Community to be a path to holiness in today’s world.
