Last week, the care of the Trinité des Monts complex in Rome has been entrusted to the Emmanuel Community through an agreement by the Holy See and the French Government. This mission follows in the footsteps of the Sisters of the Society of the Sacred Heart and, most recently, the Monastic Fraternities of Jerusalem.
Trinité des Monts, (Trinità dei Monti in Italian), has long been a familiar site for both pilgrims and tourists in Rome. On her way to ask the Holy Father for his permission to become a Carmelite, Saint Thérèse of Lisieux stopped here to pray.
The Trinité convent is also home to a famous fresco painting of Mary, Mater Admirabilis or Mother Most Admirable. In the shadow of Mary’s mantle, we humbly pray for the team of priests, consecrated sisters, and lay people, along with the Emmanuel School of Mission in Rome as they begin their new service at la Trinité.
