Pope Francis met yesterday morning with the Pontifical Council for the Laity in Rome. Our moderator, Laurent Landete, who is part of the Council, was present. He shares that at the moments when he greeted the Pope and the group received the apostolic blessing, he held all the members of the Emmanuel Community in his heart, along with all our friends and benefactors.
When he addressed the audience, Pope Francis encouraged continued evangelization and mercy; turning ourselves outward, “to take the initiative without fear, to reach out to others, to seek out those who are distant and to reach out to crossroads, to invite in the excluded.” You can read the rest of his message here at the Vatican Press Office.
