Pope Francis has issued his first Apostolic Exhortation today, November 26th entitled, Evangelii Gaudium: The Joy of the Gospel. It is a document that shares the Holy Father’s desires for a missionary Church, whose “doors should always be open”.
He particularly writes about evangelization, and the love of the poor. He also speaks of God’s little ones in the defense of the unborn and the elderly. He includes such topics as peace, homiletics, social justice, the family, respect for creation, faith and politics, ecumenism, interreligious dialogue, and the role of women and of the laity in the Church.
The true joy of Pope Francis is reflected in this his first document to the Church and to the world.
